In Tray™ DM Dermatophyte test

Dermatophytes are a unique group of fungi that invade the hair, skin and nails of a living host. Dermatophytes are the most common fungi identified in the clinical laboratory with over 12 million people diagnosed and treated annually in the US. Some dermatophytes are commonly carried by pets and may be the source of recurring infections. BioMed Diagnostics' InTray™ DM test provides a simple color test for the detection of dermatophytes (e.g. tinea, 'ringworm') with the luxury of enclosed media, long shelf life and easy portability.

BioMed's InTray™ DM medium

  • Undisturbed dermatophyte growth enhances safety and identification.
  • Proprietary packaging minimizes handler exposure.
  • Increases specificity by inhibiting both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
  • As dermatophytes grow, the medium turns red within 2 - 10 days.
  • Identifying structures (conidia, hyphae, septae, etc.) may be observed microscopically at 100x, 200x, or 400x magnification through the clear, anti-fog InTray™ window.
